Bollodromo

Gym for building muscle in Tarragona

Size is built on a strength base. Here you get both: the racks and platforms to get strong on, and the dumbbells, machines and benches to put the volume in.

Free weights that do not run out

Dumbbells, flat and adjustable benches, cables and machines — seated row, chest press, leg press, hamstring, adductors and jammer arms.

No queue for a bench

Capacity is kept in proportion to the room. A 90 minute session takes 90 minutes, not two hours of waiting.

Strength underneath it

7 competition racks and calibrated plates, so the compound work has somewhere to keep going.

Programming if you want it

The Ultra plan includes coaching, a written programme and video analysis.

Most gyms give you one or the other — a rack room with three dumbbells, or a machine circuit with nowhere to squat properly. Bollodromo is a strength gym with a full hypertrophy floor attached, which is the combination that actually builds size: heavy compound work that keeps adding load year after year, and the accessory volume to grow on top of it. And a bench free when you want one, which turns out to matter more than any of it.

Why the strength base matters for size

Hypertrophy is driven by progressive tension over time. A gym where the dumbbells stop at 30 kg and the machines have one plate left puts a ceiling on that, and you hit it in your second year. Here the compound work sits on competition racks and calibrated plates, and the accessory work has the machines and dumbbells to match. The ceiling is a lot further away.

What a session actually looks like

  • Compound work first, on a rack or a platform, with real loading available.
  • Accessory volume on dumbbells, cables and machines — the pieces that fill in what the barbell misses.
  • The functional area and the turf for whatever the programme calls for at the end.
  • Chilled filtered water, and free parking so the drive is not part of the decision.

Do I have to powerlift?

No. This is a strength and powerlifting gym, and there are members who compete — but plenty who never will, training in the same room with the same equipment. The specialisation is not a filter on who trains here; it is what is available to you. Read what the place is actually for if you want the longer version.

Which plan makes sense?

Training for size usually means three to five sessions a week, so Unlimited (€70/month, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) is the one that fits. If you want the programme written and reviewed rather than assembled yourself, Ultra adds coaching and video analysis. See the full prices.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How heavy do the dumbbells go?
Far enough that they are not the limiting factor, and the racks and benches are set up so you can actually use them. Come and look at the equipment — it is all photographed.
Is there enough machine work, or is it all barbells?
There is a full machine floor: seated row, chest press, leg press, hamstring, adductors and jammer arms, plus cables and a complete set of benches. The barbell area is the part most gyms skimp on, so it gets the attention — but the accessory equipment is all here.
Will I be waiting for equipment at peak times?
Rarely. Capacity is kept in proportion to the space and 24 hour access spreads people across the whole day rather than compressing everyone into the 18:00–21:00 window.
Can I get a programme written for me?
Yes. The Ultra plan (€150/month) includes coaching, a personalised programme and video analysis. On the other plans you train your own way.
